The brisk weather in San Francisco has me so excited for the arrival of cooler weather and the opportunity to wear my favorite Fall outerwear pieces. Fall is one of my favorite seasons because…LAYERING! My first big purchases for the season are always in the outerwear cateogry. I find coats to be some of the most emotional items in my wardrobe and they have the ability to so easily complete an entire look. Below I am highlighting some of my favorite Fall outerwear first impressions. Can’t wait for the for the cooler season ahead!

one // This is a coat I practically lived in last season (as seen here, here and here). It is the perfect hue of blush, has a slightly oversized fit that works especially well with bulky sweaters, and it’s oh-so-cozy.

two // For me, a leopard coat is a total must have item. I am looking to update one of my old favorites (as seen here), and I have my eyes set on this one.

three // The cape coat is a perfect statement maker. I love this one as it is classic in color and detailing, but modern in its tailoring.

four // Velvet has been on my mind for Fall (I’ve already highlighted some of my favorite new finds here) and the seamless integration of plaid with the more feminine velvet touches have put this piece high atop my wish list.

five // Updating the trench with plaid has never been a better idea. The boy meets girl feel of this statement coat is perfect.

six // Faux fur plus pink! The clean lines, faux fur collar, and fitted silhouette have this coat looking so much more expensive than it really is!

seven // Last year I purchased this Gloverall coat and it was one of my favorite pieces of the season. The shape is now back in so many different iterations – see them all here.

eight // I tend to gravitate towards fit and flare coats because they pair so well with full skirts (see examples seen here and here). The candy apple red color is such a stunning hue and – bonus – this one is already on sale!
