Oversized blanket scarves are an easy way to add dimension, interest, and color/pattern to nearly any Pre-Fall outfit. See here, here, and here for a few of my past looks! The practicality is literally written in the name, and being able to wear a scarf that doubles as a blanket is a lifesaver on days where the temperatures can shift unexpectedly. Ever been cold on an airplane, during a long car ride, or right when the sun begins to set? Problem solved! ASOS always has an incredible collection (four of my current faves in the image below!) of blanket scarves to choose from, but don’t hesitate, at under $30, they tend to sell out quickly. Plaids and block stripes are usually my go-to picks for pairing back to solid wool outerwear, but this season, a few solid color options are catching my eye (see here). I’m imagining them to be perfect for monotone dressing with your favorite colorful outerwear, wearing them in a color blocked fashion, or as a grounding solid for pairing back to a new plaid toggle coat (see more toggle coats here!).
I will be packing quite a few blanket scarves as I leave tomorrow on a road trip with Range Rover that will cover both sides on the Atlantic! Over the next three weeks I will be bringing you content from over in England and all the way back through New England. Starting in London, I’ll make my way into the country to visit The Cotswolds, arrive back to NYC, and then travel north through upstate New York and ultimately into Vermont. To correspond with all the travel, beginning next week on the site, I will launch a Fall Series, featuring a full week of my favorite Fall coats, followed by a week of boots, and then a weeks worth of denim. Expect tons of new Fall looks and corresponding editorial content to prepare you for the season ahead. Fall officially starts next week on September 22nd, so follow along as I start to share all things Fall fashion!
