SPRING GINGHAM // HIGH LOW SERIES

This week I am rounding up some of my favorite items and trends for spring – from save to splurge! I love to find a good bargain or value item as much as the next girl, but oftentimes, when I absolutely love something, either a unique piece or specific trend or pattern, I want to invest. Of course, where to spend all depends on your own unique style and budget! Today, I am kicking it off with spring gingham! From bags to bottoms, skirts to slides, and bowed tops to belted outerwear, there is unexpected gingham available across the board.

Gingham bags are so fun – and always a conversation starter! The red grocery tote (under $100!) is super versatile, perfect for everyday carry, but also could be used for a picnic or beach day as the nylon fabric is a breeze to clean. FYI, this tote is also available in a baby blue. The navy gingham tote is a bit more classic with the solid handles and lower paneling and features multiple inside pockets for easy separation. The coveted Mansur ‘Circle’ bag has been updated in this beautiful black and white checked canvas. I wear this silhouette all the time and love how it can be carried by the handle or worn as a crossbody (it comes with a detachable strap). And, the multi colored pink and teal shoulder bag is a total stunner!

From cropped skinnies to a wrap skirt to a wide-leg, there are gorgeous gingham bottoms at every budget. These charming capris offer a hint of stretch to keep you comfortable all day. This feminine ruffle wrap skirt will make a statement on any occasion! Another beautiful gingham skirt, this emerald number features a ruched inset gathering in the front and a simple slit in the back. Always offering a flare for the dramatic, these Silvia Tcherassi belted wide-leg pants are swoon-worthy!

Gingham shoes just may be my favorite accessory of all for spring! These espadrille slide sandals pair perfectly to boyfriend denim, cut-off shorts, or a maxi skirt, and at under $100, a great value. These green gingham slingback heels give off just the right amount of vintage. The iconic Gucci loafer mule gets updated in a blue and white gingham with matching blue leather piping. So. Much. Yes. These romantic red crystal-encrusted gingham heels are the definition of Italian luxe.

Perhaps the most bold decision of the bunch – spring gingham outerwear (NEVER ENOUGH OUTERWEAR)! This black and white double breasted gingham trench is currently 40% off and sitting well under $50 – make moves people! This waterproof hooded number is ideal for a breezy day on the water. Perhaps my favorite item in this entire post – this linen blend trench in dusty red is simply amazing. And falling squarely in the “keep forever and ever” category, this beautiful 1950’s inspired gingham trench is to die for.

I love a great gingham top for spring. From the basic to the bold, and save to splurge, below are four of my favorites. This simple gingham button down in a bright hue is a must-have spring staple. This knotted front ruffle hem gingham number makes the perfect pairing to your wide-leg pants. If off-the-shoulder is your jam, it’s hard to beat this updated piece with cute balloon sleeves and tie details. Lastly, this bustier-style crop top is perfect with cuffed jeans and slides (I bought and loved, but sadly this top was not built for me).

Last but not least, spring gingham dresses. I wore this first piece a few months ago (see post here) back to other matching gingham styles. This fit and flare dress with multidirectional panels is a modern take on a classic gingham. This gorgeous frill gingham dress is a stunning example of using volume in all the right ways – incredible! And finally, Oscar Del Renta takes a classic and makes it modern with this form fitting jacquard beauty.
