Question: I know you mentioned you shop on The Real Real often. I love the site but there is so. much. stuff. Do you have any tips for shopping?
Answer: You are right, The Real Real can be a little overwhelming! I think it’s always important to have a plan and purpose when shopping, and I typically head to The Real Real for the following reasons. One, if I am about to buy a full-price item, I first will pop over to the site to search and make sure that I can’t get a better deal. This especially applies to goods that are non-seasonal and non-sized, like sunglasses! Two, when I have a list of timeless items I would ‘love to have’ but refuse to pay full price for, I will constantly search for them, particularly off-season! For example, I just bought a Moncler jacket and vest and got an additional 20% off the already lower-than-retail price presumably because no one is buying down coats in the middle of summer! Three, if I am truly just browsing, I will always search by brands I love. It cuts through all the other clutter and I can just spend 10-15 minutes looking through my favorite few brands.
