In my mind, a tulle midi skirt is a closet staple, but admittedly I have a flair for the dramatic. When working with Nordstrom on this collection, it was imperative that we offered amazing tulle skirts, especially as we head into the holiday season! While a tulle skirt may seem tricky, I’m hoping to show below just how versatile they can be. Dress them up with heels and a sweater, or pair them down with sneakers and tee for a more casual weekend look. Working with product development, fit tech, and design, we aimed to make every piece in this collection as comfortable, wearable, and easy as possible. Every skirt in the capsule, with the exception of a great velvet midi skirt (that I will introduce later this week), has an elastic waistband and super soft lining. So, whether you are heading out to a cocktail party in heels, or running out to buy milk in sneaks, you will be as comfortable as can be!
See below on how I styled these two tulle skirts in a variety of different ways…
Glitter Mary Janes (they also come in tweed and black): Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Tulle skirt: Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Bow top (one of my top five pieces in the collection):Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Gold button blazer:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Pink Wide Belt:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Bag: Chloe & Neely. Sunglasses: Saint Laurent.
Hi, I would like to introduce you to me as an outfit. Bows, tulle, pearls, glitter, and lots of pink. This was the first key look that I pulled together in the concept phase of the collection – and it remains my favorite! Monochromatic outfits can often be tough, but I always find them easier to pull off when utilizing various tones of a single hue and mixing rich fabrications together – which is why I believe this look works so well!
Polka Dot Skirt:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Bow Pumps:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Flock Dot Top: 1901. Belt: Halogen. Hat: Gucci. Bag: Mark Cross via the Real Real.
Polka dots meets Mary Poppins! You saw this blazer here yesterday styled in two different ways, and today I am pairing it back to this incredible, tulle, full polka dot midi skirt. This black beauty combines multiple layers of tulle, printed chiffon, and layers flocked with velvet dots to create a really intricate piece that looks much more expensive than it is (just $99)! These bow pumps are also from the collection and act as a great alternative to a clean pump, offering just enough of a feminine touch while staying versatile enough to go work back to nearly everything in your closet! Lately, I have been really into mixing up black with some of the traditional ‘fashion no-nos’ like brown and navy, and these pumps are just perfect for the occasion.
Pretty princess but make it weekend! I know we all don’t run around everyday in glitter shoes, bow tops, and tulle skirts – and if you do I am v v impressed- so here is a casual alternative. I love to pair the more fancy frocks and skirts in my closet back to sneakers to dress them down for days-on-the-run or weekend fun. This skirt looks equally chic with stan smiths as it does with glittery flats or your favorite go-to pump.
Skirt:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Shoes: Converse. Stripe Lurex Sweater:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Sunglasses: Illesteva. Bag: last seen here and here.
Converse and cocktail skirts never felt so good. Showcasing another easy way to wear the tulle skirt (or any midi skirt for that matter) more casually. This stripe lurex sweater is a part of the collection, and comes in three amazing color combinations. The tighter fit makes it the perfect mate to a more full skirt. In this outfit I have also paired the polka dot tulle skirt back to one of my favorite polka dot underpinnings – a dotted piece that we created to provide even more fullness – and quirk – to the skirts!
Skirt:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Skinny Tie Scarf:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Long Mint CoatAtlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Lurex Stripe Sweater:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Pink Wide Belt:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Pink Oxfords:Atlantic-Pacific X Halogen. Sunglasses: Illesteva. Bag: Mark Cross via The Real Real.
For the ultimate pastel lover I present you this ensemble. This statement coat is far and away one of my favorite pieces in the collection (available in both mint and plaid) and I particularly love how well the length compliments the tulle skirts and color blocked dresses in the capsule. The length, tailored body, and fuller sweep make this coat easy enough to wear back to a fuller skirt or dress, but equally stylish paired with your favorite boyfriend denim.
