Question: What advice would you have given yourself when you were first starting your career?
Answer: In my fashion career in merchandising. it would have been to not take everything so seriously and better recognize that I was a small part of a bigger picture. Over the years, and as I matured, I much better understood my role, and the role of others, in the larger ecosystem of bringing product to market. When I was less senior, my view was more narrow and I would get bent out of shape over things that, in the grand scheme of things, simply didn’t matter as much as I thought they did. In my blogging career it would be quite similar – to play the long game. I have always given myself that advice, but haven’t always been the best at following it. It’s hard! I always want to make sure the decisions I am making each day are setting me up for long term growth.
